Job Corps is authorized under Title I, Subtitle C, of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act of 2014. The program is administered by the U.S. Department of Labor, Employment and Training Administration, Office of Job Corps. Job Corps operates under the leadership of the National Director supported by a National Office staff and a field network of 6 Regional Offices located in Boston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas and San Francisco. Job Corps operations are also supported by ETA’s Office of Contracts Management (OCM) and the Office of Financial Administration (OFA).
Job Corps centers are operated by private companies contracted through a competitive procurement process, and by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service, under the terms of an Interagency Agreement.
Enrollment and placement services for various geographical areas are provided by private companies contracted through a competitive procurement process.
In addition, the Department of Labor contracts for program support services such as student training conducted by national training contractors, development or updates to curricula, management of construction and rehabilitation projects, and performance of studies and evaluations, as needed.
